Transport authorities were preparing a temporary Bailey bridge on 11 October 2026 after floodwaters swept away the road bridge linking Aarughat in Gorkha with neighbouring Dhading. The damage interrupted an important local connection.
OnlineKhabar reported that the Gorkha Road Project intended to bring bridge components from the Road Division Office in Hetauda. Project chief Binod Pun said installation work could begin after the materials arrived.
The Nepali Army had also sent personnel to inspect the site and prepare for the work, according to the same report. At the time of publication, the temporary structure was a plan in progress, not a completed crossing.
